Google tweaks image search algorithm and SafeSearch option to show less explicit content

Google on Wednesday tweaked its SafeSearch setting and images search algorithm, significantly altering its search results: previously explicit searches have stopped returning explicit results. The ICM Registry contacted TNW to let us know that Search.xxx, the porn-only search engine, has seen a 50 percent increase in traffic during the last 24 hours.

At the same time, the organization is telling “appropriate audiences” that they can still get all the results they want by adding just three letters to their search queries: xxx. Examples given include Toys, Gay, Shemales, and Orgasms. While these all return safe results in Google now, the group is urging the porn-browsing public to instead search for Toys xxx, Gay xxx, Shemales xxx, and Orgasms xxx.

This should work “in virtually any search engine” but if you’d rather not bother, ICM says you can find adult content on Search.xxx without using the xxx trick. In fact, the tip is really just a marketing ploy to boost awareness about the porn search engine.
